Sinus Lifts
It's a well-established and predictable technique aimed at creating more bone in your upper jaw, specifically the maxilla.

Why is this necessary? The sinuses are air-filled cavities above your upper jaw. When teeth are missing, the sinuses can expand into the jawbone, leaving insufficient space for dental implants. The sinus lift solves this by creating new bone beneath the sinus membrane, providing a strong foundation for your future implants.
Here's how it works, step-by-step:
1. A precise incision is made in your upper gum, revealing the jawbone beneath.
2. The sinus membrane, a thin lining separating the jawbone from the sinus
cavity, is carefully lifted and repositioned upwards.
3. The newly created space is filled with a bone grafting material, either sourced
from a mineralized bone or a synthetic compound.
4. The gum flap is sutured closed, allowing the grafted bone to integrate with
your jawbone for 3-5 months.
Sounds scary? Don't worry! This procedure is typically completed within an hour and performed under local anesthesia. Most patients experience minimal discomfort and return to their daily routines quickly.
